Overview:
The Head of Institutional Sales is a senior management position responsible for overseeing new business development and trading operations. The core sales focus of this role will be to grow the institutional client base and bring intermediated assets onto the platform, while leading and managing a team that caters primarily to institutional clients but will also work closely with resources in the direct sales team, as well as the investment solutions and trading teams (globally).
Key Responsibilities:
* Grow Institutional Assets: Research and develop new leads, creating a strong sales pipeline, continuous long-term engagement with potential clients, building key relationships, converting leads into active clients through negotiations and contract implementation, selling additional proprietary technology solutions into the existing client base.
* Expand Product Offering: Allow for a more diverse opportunity set, improving the sales function and unlocking greater market share over time.
* Attend Conferences: Promote awareness and grow market presence.
* Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor sales, trading, and relationship management teams, ensuring they meet performance targets while promoting a collaborative environment.
* Sales Strategy: Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company growth and revenue goals.
* Client Relationship Management: Create an environment ensuring high levels of professionalism and regulatory compliance in managing client relationships.
* Trading and Investment Solutions: Oversee the Trading and Investment Solutions team, driving asset growth through the sales team.
* Market Analysis: Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify growth opportunities.
* Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure strict adherence to Financial Services Compliance regulations within the sales function.
* Sales Targets: Set and assist with achieving sales growth targets, monitoring progress and taking corrective action as needed.
* Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to align sales strategies with business initiatives.
* Industry Representation: Represent the company at industry events to promote brand awareness and generate leads.
* Communication: Maintain clear communication with staff, providing feedback and ensuring timely submission of monthly reports.
* Data Management: Ensure accurate maintenance of data and statistics for relevant stakeholders.
* Remote Operations: Facilitate business operations over long distances and different time zones.
* Community Building: Foster a sense of connection within the company community.
* Regulatory Reporting and Tax: Knowledge of regulatory and tax reporting for financial institutions.
* Client Entertainment: Organise and oversee client entertainment activities to enhance business development.
* Supervision of Additional Departments: Assist with supervision of newly established departments.
* Configuration: Understanding back-end configuration frameworks of different Institutional client types.
* Technology: Strategic positioning and implementation of technology solutions.
* Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, 5+ years of experience in institutionally based capital market technology sales.
* Computing: Solid base of computer skills, understanding API integration and capabilities.
