Job Title: Interim Guarantees Officer
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Guarantees Officer to join our team on a contract basis for an initial 3-month period. The successful candidate will be required to hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
The Guarantees Officer will play a vital role in managing Guarantees/SBLCs issuances, ensuring they are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs. Key responsibilities include:
* Reviewing, drafting and executing Demand Guarantees, ensuring potential risks relating to guarantee wordings are either accepted by Legal/Business or mitigated by revision.
* Reviewing Standby Letter of Credit applications and amendments to determine workability, accurately interpreting and executing instructions while complying with bank's policy.
* Minimising Operational incidents by performing stringent control checks on non-standard or unusual issuance requests.
* Ensuring guarantees are issued in accordance with Group policies, UCP Rules, Checklists and SOPs.
* Accurately booking and collecting guarantee commissions within agreed time lines.
* Acknowledging and responding to enquiries from external clients and internal stakeholders promptly, demonstrating higher standards of client service.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
* Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG758) & ISP98, and how a guarantee should be structured.
* Knowledge and understanding of the Australian and global banking regulatory and compliance environments.
* Experience of controls to manage Operational Risks.
Desirable Qualifications
In addition to the requirements above, it would be advantageous if you had:
* Knowledge of general banking products and basic accounting.
* AML / CTF controls.
