Situated at our Head Office in Redfern, the Junior Merchandise Planner reports directly to the Senior Merchandise Planner. The primary responsibilities involve inbound deliveries, handling retail stock replenishment for sales support, assisting in managing seasonal markdowns and reporting, ensuring effective inventory management, and supporting the Senior Merchandise Planner in various commercial tasks as needed by the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the logistics and production teams to monitor inbound deliveries for retail, coordinating with relevant departments in case of any delivery delays.
Pre-allocate new products according to retail orders and agreed-upon allocation rules, ensuring their arrival at physical stores before the official launch date.
Manage regular replenishment to maintain optimal stock levels for both physical stores and e-commerce platforms.
Monitor retail stock levels for packaging items and assist in placing seasonal orders to ensure adequate stock availability.
Maintain regular communication with the retail sales team to maximize sales opportunities and ensure the right stock levels in stores.
Assist the senior planner in managing all season-end and year-end markdowns, focusing on gross margin and stock clearance.
Upload approved markdown prices to AP21 before promotions start, cross-checking with store and e-commerce teams to ensure accurate pricing.
Ensure that updated AU RRP is uploaded to AP21 prior to the official launch date of each season accurately.
Generate and maintain records of monthly closing data, including sales, inventory, goods in transit, inbound deliveries, and other relevant information.
Updating monthly trade reports and providing insights and suggestions for improving performance.
Gather and organize data from AP21 to support the senior merchandise planner in stock forecasting, SKU planning, seasonal order analysis and retail launch plan.
Actively seek ways to enhance current processes and provide input for system improvements.
Undertake any other administrative or reporting tasks within the merchandise planning team as needed.
ABOUT YOU
2-3 years of relevant experience, with at least 1 year in retail allocation or reporting.
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
Self-motivated and eager to learn.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Enjoys working in a small team and collaborating with multiple teams.
IT WOULD BE AN ADVANTAGE TO HAVE
Experience with Apparel 21 or equivalent ERP system
Successful track record of working in the merchandise space for high end international brand
