The branch is responsible for providing advice on state revenue matters, including state taxes and Commonwealth-State financial relations as well as providing accurate and timely advice on economic conditions and economic forecasts. The Branch contributes to the Government's economic policy and provides advice on economic strategy with the aim of maximising economic opportunities for South Australia.It also plays a key role in supporting the Treasurer, Under Treasurer, and Deputy Under Treasurer for meetings of Heads of Treasury and for meetings of the Board of Treasurers and Council on Federal-Financial Relations.
