Environment Manager
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to join our team as the Environment Group Manager for Cairns. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the General Manager – Cairns and Regional General Manager - NQ to oversee the daily operations of the Cairns Environment group. This includes managing Human Resources, Business Development and Marketing, Information Technology, Financial Reporting, and administrative activities. A crucial aspect of your responsibilities will be to lead, mentor, and develop the Environment group's business support team.

Your interpersonal prowess allows you to navigate challenging situations with ease, building and maintaining strong relationships with both your team and stakeholders.
You should also possess:
A degree in environmental science, environmental management, ecology/botany/zoology, or a related field.
Solid expertise in business development, legislative requirements, and technical proficiency across various environmental disciplines, particularly in the infrastructure delivery and mining sectors.
Demonstrated commercial acumen, including managing people, budgets, client relationships, and fostering business growth.
Knowledge of licensing and auditing, along with expertise in environmental disciplines such as noise, air quality, water, flora, and/or soil monitoring and assessment management.
Familiarity with environmental legislation and planning policies.
Proven experience in delivering environmental solutions for major development, infrastructure, and mining projects.
Background working on a variety of environmental assessment and planning projects.
Willingness to travel as needed, including extended fieldwork in remote areas.
