Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Theatre Orderly | Team Leader to oversee the efficient operation of their theatre support services. The successful candidate will lead a team of orderlies, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and maintaining a safe and organized environment in the operating theatres.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, supervise, and coordinate the activities of the theatre orderly team.
* Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of operating theatres before and after procedures.
* Assist in the transportation and positioning of patients within the theatre complex.
* Manage the inventory of surgical instruments and supplies, ensuring timely availability.
* Collaborate with the surgical team to support smooth and efficient theatre operations.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and hospital policies.
* Provide training and mentorship to new and existing theatre orderlies.
* Address and resolve any operational issues promptly and effectively.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience as a Theatre Orderly or similar role within a hospital setting.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
* Strong understanding of operating theatre protocols and procedures.
* Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
* Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
* Basic computer skills and familiarity with hospital management software.
Desirable:
* Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or equivalent qualification.
* First Aid and CPR certification.
* Experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
