We are also one of the largest buyers and exporters of grain in Australia.Our unique culture empowers our employees to think innovatively and develop their careers in an exciting and supportive environment.About the roleAn exciting opportunity has now arisen for an experienced lawyer to join our skilled and respected in-house legal team to assist us in providing legal services across the business.Working in our Adelaide head office with both our General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel, you will have daily exposure to the executive management team and be expected to work closely and strategically with the business in Australia and New Zealand.DutiesBe an active member of the Crisis Management team.Advise the Executive, Senior Management and the business generally in relation to commercial transactions and legal matters.Assist the HR team with employment related matters as required.Lead and participate in project teams, including legal representation on cross business projects including acquisitions, divestments, restructures, M&A and strategic transactions.Manage litigation matters, alternative dispute resolution and debt recovery actions to achieve favourable outcomes.Manage claims and liaise with insurers where appropriate.Draft and review service agreements, e.g., transport and logistics, major and minor works contracts and other legal documents to ensure the business' full legal rights.Communicate and negotiate with external parties including regulators, external counsel and public authorities on court documents (e.g., Subpoena documents) and Requests for Information.Maintain legal knowledge in respect of laws that impact on the business operations and advise the business on compliance matters as required.Participate in the development and implementation of corporate policies.Support General Counsel in Executive role and in the Government Relations portfolio.About youTertiary qualified in law or equivalent degree.Admitted to practice as a Solicitor in the state of South Australia.A minimum of 5 years' experience in legal practice.An understanding of the requirements of various internal clients within the business and an awareness of how different Departments interact across the business.Willingness and demonstrated ability to adapt legal skills to new areas of practice.
