This role is a casual position with the opportunity to progress to Permanent Part-time hours. Services can range between the hours of 6.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, with alternating weekends available.
We support people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and cognitive decline, disabilities, post-operative care needs, and older Australians. Our services include aged and disability care, transitional care, hospital in the home, and palliative care.
We are currently seeking experienced Personal Care Workers who are enthusiastic and passionate about providing a caring, compassionate, respectful, and high-quality service. Our priority is to help our clients live empowered and independently at home.
As typical in the role of in-home aged care support, you will be assisting with:
* Personal care
* Domestic assistance
* Transportation
* Medication reminders
* Other activities of daily living
A Personal Care Worker provides support to their clients with daily activities, personal care and hygiene, social outings, appointments, transport, and the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. This includes performing general light cleaning duties throughout client homes, such as cleaning client rooms and bathrooms, vacuuming, meal preparation, and companionship activities, ultimately improving the quality of life for the client and assisting them in maintaining their independence at home.
* Adheres to Right at Home policies and procedures including participation in Quality Assurance activities.
* Performs work under the supervision of the staffing coordinator/Care Manager.
* Performs homemaking activities contained in the Client Home Record, including vacuuming, dusting, sweeping or mopping floors, doing dishes, changing bed linen, laundry, and cleaning bathrooms.
* Provides assistance and support with daily hygiene needs, based on client ability and requirements.
* Prepares meals and snacks for clients according to client/family and supervisor’s instructions. May also perform grocery shopping if prearranged with the office.
* Provides companionship for the client including accompanying them on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, and assistance with hobbies.
* Responsible for documenting services provided in the client record using the applicable system.
* Must refer all questions or reports to the RN/Care Manager and should not contact the client’s physician directly.
* Communicates effectively with clients, significant others, and other members of the Care Team, ensuring confidentiality of client information.
* Maintains up-to-date knowledge and skills by attending In-Service training in accordance with identified needs, particularly in relation to Work Health & Safety.

Qualifications
* Certificate III in Aged Care and/or Individual Care.
* Satisfactory Australian National Police check.
* Current first aid and CPR certificate.
* Driver’s licence and own car (full comprehensive insurance).
