At Vivid India Pty Ltd, you will collaborate closely with our kitchen leadership team and support the daily operations of our Food and Beverage services across our café, catering, and special events. We are currently seeking to fill several full-time and part-time kitchen positions due to recent changes in team availability.
As a Chef, you will be responsible for maintaining the quality and consistency of our menu items, ensuring adherence to high food safety standards, and fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere in the kitchen.
Chef
Salary: $75,088 + Superannuation per annum
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Curate and design a diverse selection of pastries, cakes, bread, and baked products that align with the brand image of Vivid India Pty Ltd.
* Assess and calculate food and labor costs to set competitive and profitable pricing strategies.
* Oversee the sourcing of premium ingredients and supplies while managing costs efficiently.
* Monitor and maintain the quality and presentation of products, ensuring they consistently meet high standards.
* Work closely with the team to refine processes and ensure product consistency.
* Provide training sessions on advanced baking methods and culinary techniques.
* Lead baking operations, ensuring adherence to established recipes and quality guidelines.
* Uphold stringent hygiene and food safety practices.
* Manage and supervise the bakery staff, offering training and support as needed.
* Develop methods for product storage and preservation to minimize waste and maintain freshness.
Qualification and Experience:
* Certificate IV in commercial cookery/Diploma in Hospitality Management
* Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Chef in a café, restaurant, or similar environment
* Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
* Proven ability to prepare a variety of dishes, including baked goods, breakfast, and lunch items
* Experience in menu planning and development, ensuring a high-quality and creative selection of dishes
* Ability to manage kitchen operations efficiently, including stock control and food preparation
* Excellent time management and organizational skills
* Strong teamwork and communication abilities
