About the role
We are extremely excited to announce that we are inviting applications for a Design Draftsperson role to be based in our Kurri Kurri office with a hybrid working setup.
The Design Draftsperson is responsible for creating detailed designs, specifications, and drawings, as well as comprehensive specification packages for both stationary and mobile machinery construction.
They play a pivotal role in promoting the Design Quality Plan (DQP) within the Drawing Management System to ensure high standards are maintained. The Design Draftsperson provides crucial support in managing the drafting workload and coordinating deliverables with various drafting contractors as necessary.
What you will be doing
This role involves leading safety initiatives, drafting designs for delivery systems and fixed plant, ensuring adherence to the Design Quality Plan (DQP) for all drafting activities, reviewing the work of other draftspersons against DQP standards, and managing the drafting workflow, including prioritization and resource allocation.
As a Design Draftsperson, this role entails leading by example to identify and rectify safety hazards, maintaining a high standard of safety and health for all, staying informed about relevant standards and regulations, and ensuring that all designs adhere to a defined safety basis
The Design Draftsperson involves comprehensive planning and contribution to design briefs, aligning with customer requirements, and preparing concept layouts and detailed construction drawings across various engineering disciplines. It includes ensuring compliance with work instructions, enhancing drawing production procedures, and maintaining expertise in company and Australian Standards.
The role also requires proficient use of computer-aided drafting, knowledge of plant design, supervising drafting work, reusing designs for standard equipment, incorporating maintainability into designs, agreeing on design outputs, and ensuring the appropriate level of detail in design documents.
What you will bring
1. Minimum 8 years’ experience in an engineering design drafting role.
2. Thorough knowledge of AS1100 drawing standards is essential
3. Skilled in engineering design and drafting.
4. Extensive knowledge and experience in the use of AutoCAD and SOLIDWORKS
5. A practical understanding of typical materials handling and pumping systems.
