About the role
Autism SA is seeking new House Leaders to lead our teams of dedicated Support Workers in the northern suburbs. These permanent positions involve providing leadership, guidance, and support to our teams of Support Workers. This exciting role will see you maintaining positive, respectful work culture, and ensuring adherence to personal conduct, process, and performances standards that contribute to a high level of client-centred support.
As the House Leader, you will be a point of direct contact for families and other stakeholders, providing and obtaining relevant information to ensure quality person-centred support.
Some of your key responsibilities will be:
* Contribute to the development of support plans, safety and risk assessments, and client profiles.
* Ensure that client goals are being addressed, reviewed, and achieved
* General day-to-day running of the house, including but not limited to, developing grocery lists, meal planning, shopping, etc.
* Maintain and monitor individual files and program documentation ensuring information entered is accurate, objective and respectful to the individual(s) it relates to
* Physically assist individuals with personal care when needed, while maximising independence and ensuring dignity in care
* Ensuring availability and appropriateness of program financials such as petty cash, grocery funds client activity/personal money
* Direct oversight of medication requirements e.g. ordering and receiving
What you need to succeed:
* Ability to coordinate team activities and oversee processes and performance standards
* Previous experience in a similar role (desirable)
* Experience supporting autistic individuals
* Disability industry experience within accommodation and community-based support settings
* Experience of/or desire to coach and mentor staff
Essential Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Individual Support / Disability or similar qualification.
* Ability to work flexibly across a 14-day/night roster, which includes shift work, weekends, public holidays, night shifts & overnight sleepovers
* Current First Aid + CPR certificate
* National Police Clearance within the last 3 months
* NDIS Workers Check and DHS Working with Children Check
* SA Driver’s License
* Child Safe Environment Training
* DCP Psychological Assessment (successful applicants will be supported with this process)
