A Day in the Life
This is an exciting opportunity to be an integral member of our highly CST businesses team at Medtronic. The Clinical Specialist will assist the Territory Managers by providing clinical support and customer education to key clinicians and hospital staff within the assigned territory to achieve sales revenue and market share.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
* Support Territory Managers’ account sales strategies through regular contact with key specialists and technical staff
* Provide technical and case support to customers in theatre
* Conduct in-services and provide regular product updates to ensure existing and prospective customers are technically competent
* Gather market intelligence on customer and competitor activity and communicate to Territory Managers and management
* Provide clinical education and training of new staff in the hospital environment
* Assist Territory Manager with inventory control and management of stock consignment, including the expedited delivery of stock to customers as needed
Required Knowledge and Experience:
Must Have
* High school diploma with minimum of 6 years relevant experience OR Associate Diploma with minimum of 4 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s Degree with minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
Nice to Have:
* A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy or Science related disciplines
* Prior experience in a similar clinical support capacity would be advantageous but not essential
* Proven experience as a scrub nurse or those from an Allied Health or Medical Science background with a genuine interest in wanting to develop a career in the medical device industry may also be considered
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong ability to build credible relationships with key surgeons and other hospital staff
* Ability to perform well under pressure
* A self-motivated and positive attitude with a strong focus on exceeding customer expectations
* Successful applicant will take part in a rotating on call roster to provide clinical support in cases that occur outside of normal business hours
