About the Opportunity
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Paediatric Emergency Department as a Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse, where you will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities:
* Registered Nurse:
o Plan and coordinate services with other disciplines or agencies in providing individual health care needs.
o Assess individual patient/client needs, plan, implement and/or coordinate appropriate service delivery.
o Provide health promotion and education, to patients/clients or groups and carers to improve the health outcomes of individuals.
* Clinical Nurse:
o Provide a high standard of clinical practice through the application of professional standards and adherence to policies, protocols and procedures and working within a model of client centred care.
o Promotes access and equity of services for people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
o Participates in and oversees the provision of quality nursing care.
About Us
The Paediatric Emergency Department (PED), located within the Women's and Children's Hospital is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and sees over 45,000 patients annually and is the State's Major Trauma Service for Paediatrics. There is an attached 12 bed Emergency Extended Care Unit (EECU) with over 5,000 admissions annually.
Our newly developed and upgraded department was designed closely with staff, consumers and stakeholders to meet the needs of our patients and allow our staff to continue to provide the highest standard of emergency care to children from across the state.
