We are very excited to be seeking expressions of interest for an experienced Senior Creature Effects Artist to join our growing team.Location: Adelaide, Australia (This position will be open to local and international applicants.Visa and relocation assistance provided where applicable) Position Overview The Senior Creature Effects Artist is responsible for building and maintaining cloth and hair simulation rigs and running simulations within shots.They work closely with rigging, animation and modelling to ensure the assets are built and designed for fast and quality deformation.Creature FX TD's leverage shot finaling tools within the creature pipeline to ensure quality assets are passed downstream to lighting.Ideally they will have experience in grooming with a keen eye for detail and be able to collaborate with Look Dev and Lighting to achieve a believable look to the groom.Required skills and experience Minimum 5 years of relevant character effects experience across high-end feature film.Experience with cloth and hair simulation using Maya's Nucleus solvers or Houdini's Vellum Solver Experience with either Maya's Xgen, Yeti or Houdini grooming.Knowledge and experience in Python.Ability and understanding of how to shot sculpt using custom and standard methods.Strong initiative and problem solving skills.Excellent communication and organisational skills.Visual Effects, Fine Art, Computer Science, Physics or Mathematics or related tertiary qualification may be required for international applicants.Desired Skills Muscle and flesh simulation experience.Experience with Maya's python API.C++ experience a plus.A good understanding of Object Oriented design patterns.An understanding of traditional rigging techniques eg.Puppet development, Linear skinning etc.To apply Click the Apply button below.Those closely matching this job description will be contacted for further information.
