As the Principal Manager (Strategic Asset Management & Investment), you will be part of a dynamic, diverse and inclusive team that is committed to providing a high standard of service to support Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) achieve its objectives and outcomes for the Queensland Community.
Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
• Lead the strategic asset management and investment functions for MSQ, providing expert advice and services to ensure the independent coordination of investment prioritisation decisions, effective monitoring and reporting, and to facilitate program delivery.
• As part of the broader MSQ investment program, lead and manage the Maritime Infrastructure Investment Program (MIIP) within the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP), including responsibility for management and delivery of all MIIP governance requirements under the QTRIP.
• Work in partnership with MSQ stakeholders to ensure that the approved investment program is informed by data, risk, asset lifecycle assessments, sound financial management, and stakeholder consultation to achieve operational priorities.
• Maintain and oversee branch asset management policies, strategies, guidelines and procedures in accordance with TMR asset management requirements, working collaboratively with MSQ business areas to ensure alignment with the branch strategic direction and operational requirements.
• Provide a lead role in ensuring that information systems for managing all categories of MSQ's assets are well established and utilised to inform strategic and operational asset management planning and decision making.
• Lead and guide your team in the provision of expert advice and support to decision makers and project managers to enable effective asset management, program governance, financial management, project delivery and procurement functions in line with best practice and contemporary methods.
To be considered suitable for the role you will have:
• High level ability to lead strategic asset management functions across a diverse and complex operational asset base, including governance frameworks and processes.
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and expertise in financial management to support financial sustainability of investment programs, development of funding options, analysis of whole of asset lifecycle costs and project estimates, program budgeting and reporting, and procurement support.
• Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in the use of contemporary financial, asset and program management tools and information systems and the ability to translate this knowledge into business improvements and innovation.
• Proven ability to lead, develop and motivate your team to provide a high standard of service and contribute positively to organisational culture and performance.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with the ability to tailor communication style to a range of stakeholders, including communication of technical content.
• Proven ability to build enduring relationships and work collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to achieve organisational objectives.
