Principal or Senior Town Planner | NSW Projects Tweed Heads, Lismore & Far North Coast NSW THE COMPANY Our client is a highly regarded Town Planning and Landscape Architecture consultancy that is experiencing steady growth, providing a range of challenging and distinctive career opportunities. THE ROLE This role will involve working across all areas of the business, delivering statutory and strategic planning expertise to both private and public sector clients. It will also contribute to the growth of the business by enhancing its professional profile and expanding its client base. Key responsibilities include preparing fee proposals, managing projects independently (including client and consultant coordination), and writing complex reports. Additionally, the role will support the Director with people management and quality assurance activities. DUTIES - Proactively engage in business development to secure new opportunities and work for the company.- Represent the company at key industry events and forums within the Planning and Development sector (e.g., UDIA, PIA, Property Council, etc.).- Develop and implement strategies, applying critical and creative thinking to navigate approval pathways.- Prepare major and complex planning applications for a wide range of land use activities, with a focus on significant and challenging projects.- Prepare project fee proposals, provide planning advisory services, and conduct due diligence investigations.- Manage Town Planning projects of varying sizes and complexities, ensuring client outcomes are achieved on time and within budget.- Conduct planning investigations and provide advice on site development potential, determining the highest and best use.- Stay informed on legislative and policy reforms, ensuring the company is up to date with industry changes.- Track and monitor project budgets to ensure financial performance aligns with expectations.- Provide coordination and supervisory support for project teams and staff. ABOUT YOU - Tertiary qualifications in a recognized Town Planning program (Graduate or Postgraduate degree), with ideally 8+ years of experience in a senior planning role within New South Wales.- Extensive knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment framework in NSW, including relevant Acts, regulations, allied legislation, and Environmental Planning Instruments.- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet multiple deadlines.- Excellent report writing and communication skills.- Proven skills in people coordination and supervision. #J-18808-Ljbffr
