We are a pioneering organisation, established in 1992, dedicated to the research and development of advanced surface engineering techniques. Our mission is to significantly reduce wear rates of critical components across various industries.
This leads to increased production life and reduced operating and maintenance costs for our customers. We operate from dynamic facilities across NSW, QLD, SA & VIC, with a state-of-the-art factory in Altona, VIC. Our facility provides specialist services, including manufacturing new parts and repairing existing components, leveraging an extensive machining and grinding workshop with both manual and CNC capabilities, as well as thermal spray, hardfacing, and laser cladding cells using both manual and robotic processes.
The Role & Candidates
We are seeking a First Year Apprentice to undertake their trade (Certificate III Engineering - Mechanical Trade) at our Altona, Victoria premises. As a Fitting and Machining Apprentice, you will receive comprehensive training on manual and CNC machines, as well as gain insight into LaserBond's specialised processes.
This four-year apprenticeship includes training and assessment, conducted both on-site and through LaserBond's training provider. To be considered for this position, you must demonstrate:
• A good mechanical aptitude.
• A strong understanding of mathematics.
• A willingness to listen and follow direction.
• A commitment to building on your skills.
• Safe work ethics.
