We welcome people from all locations around the world to apply, with visa support being offered in individual cases.Responsibilities:Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and bill of quantities. Consider various factors such as materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to provide comprehensive cost projections.Budget Management: Monitor project budgets throughout the construction lifecycle. Track costs, identify cost variances, and implement cost control measures to ensure projects remain within budget constraints. Provide regular reports on budget status to project stakeholders.Tendering and Procurement: Participate in the tendering process, including preparing and evaluating tender documents, conducting cost comparisons, and recommending the selection of contractors and suppliers based on cost and quality considerations.Valuation and Payment Assessment: Carry out interim and final valuations of work completed by contractors, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and conditions. Verify and assess contractor payment applications and process payments accordingly.Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, including reviewing and interpreting contract terms, assessing contractual claims and variations, and negotiating settlement agreements. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and resolve any disputes that arise.Cost Reporting: Prepare regular cost reports, cost forecasts, and financial statements to provide project stakeholders with accurate and up-to-date information on project financial performance. Identify cost trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings.Quantity Take-offs: Perform quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings to determine the quantities of materials required for construction projects. Liaise with suppliers to obtain accurate pricing and quotations.Value Engineering: Collaborate with project teams to identify value engineering opportunities and propose alternative solutions that can achieve cost savings without compromising quality or functionality.Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the construction process. Identify potential risks and hazards, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.Strong knowledge of construction cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement processes.Proficiency in using industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools.Familiarity with construction contracts, including standard forms such as FIDIC, NEC, or JCT.Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.Effective communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, and contractors.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of construction Law would be beneficial.Understanding of health and safety regulations and their application in construction projects.Relevant professional certifications or memberships (e.g., RICS, AIQS, LLM, CIArb, CIOB) are preferred.Additional BenefitsLewis Woolcott are committed to continuously improving our services.
