The Role
Digital Identity Services (DDIS) is seeking an experienced and innovative EL 1 Operations Manager.
You will lead a team that shapes Identity and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), from requests for information, to troubleshooting complex interactions with digital certificates and data pipeline issues around identity matters.
This role provides leadership for Defence to the Combined Communications and Electronics Board (CCEB), the five-allied national military coordination and interoperability organisation, with respect to Digital Identity and PKI systems.
The role is responsible for ensuring security, integrity and correct operational effectiveness of the PKI and Directory and Data Management (DDM) services as well as supporting the team by handling much of the administrative and reporting tasks. This a great opportunity to extend your technical knowledge in PKI and Identity arenas.
The role is also a Trusted Role within the Defence PKI (PKI Operations Manager) and represents the team to the PKI Management Authority (PMA) and other relevant parties.
Whilst the role suits someone with a technical background, it is not a specific requirement.
The role requires a combination of leadership, strong written and verbal communication, service and project management, technical knowledge and procurement skills.

About our Team
The Directorate of Digital Identity Services (DDIS) brings together key identity management, Public Key Infrastructure, Smartcard, Physical Access Control (credentialing), network account provisioning and de-provisioning services and systems and security principles for Defence.
Digital Identity Services provide a framework of technology encompassing digital certificates, identity, security, access, and data management essential to ensuring Defence:
1. Identities and resources are appropriately protected.
2. Users are granted appropriate access to Defence resources.
The Data and Directory Management (DDM) section is responsible for maintaining the servers, applications and infrastructure that supports Defence’s current Identity Management system and Integration services. The PKI section is responsible for maintaining the servers, applications and infrastructure that supports Defence’s PKI used to secure and assure Defence’s network, system, and business processes.
