You Will Be Responsible ForDeveloping strategic policy advice on maritime issuesProviding advice on draft text for treaties, memoranda of understanding and resolutionsSupporting capacity building programs to improve implementation of international maritime standards in our regionSupporting Australia's campaign for election to IMO Council in 2023Supporting AMSA's technical delegations to international meetingsStakeholder consultation and engagement.SKILLS AND EXPERIENCETo be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience:
Tertiary qualifications in law, international relations, strategic policy, government, stakeholder engagement or other relevant qualification or equivalent relevant experienceDemonstrated experience in providing high quality advice in tight timeframesStrong negotiation, written and oral communication skills with the capability to present information that is clear, concise and readily understood by a variety of audiencesAbility to work collaboratively with others as part of a team and engage with stakeholdersUnderstanding of, or ability to quickly develop an understanding of, the public sector environment and Ministerial relationshipAbility to gain and maintain a NV1 security clearance.An understanding of the maritime industry and Australia's maritime interests would be an advantage.
