About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Workshop Manager to lead a dynamic fabrication team in a well-established workshop. As the Workshop Manager, you’ll play a key role in driving efficiency and excellence, working closely with Procurement, Logistics, and Operations to ensure seamless project execution. This position offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact by improving workflows, setting high safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage production schedules, resource allocation, and workflows to meet project deadlines and exceed client expectations.
* Oversee cost management, inventory, and budgets, ensuring efficient operations within set financial targets.
* Champion a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and promoting a culture of safety.
* Collaborate with senior management on resource planning and timelines, adjusting as needed to accommodate project requirements.
* Monitor and maintain equipment, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance for uninterrupted production.
* Facilitate training and professional development for team members in partnership with HR.
* Attend and contribute to key meetings to align workshop goals with broader business objectives.
Required Skills and Experience
* Extensive experience in fabrication and plant management, preferably within a high-paced workshop environment.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams across multiple shifts, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.
* Solutions-focused approach with the ability to navigate complex project challenges.
* Proficiency in cost management and budgetary control within a production setting.
* Competence with Microsoft Office, CAD, and other project management tools.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to interpret and apply technical specifications.
* Effective time management and decision-making skills under pressure.
