This role is a residential position within the Parkes local area.
About the role The Apprentice Plant Mechanic role is a directly supervised, hands-on role learning the plant mechanic trade within the underground Mining Mobile Equipment Application guided by highly qualified and motivated tradespeople within the MEM team.
On the job trade learning ensures all maintenance activities are carried out in a safe, professional and efficient manner in accordance with NPM best practices to ensure benchmark performance of NPM mining mobile fleet, whilst meeting key metrics and maintaining Zero Harm Operations.
Through your on-the-job experience and TAFE coursework, you will learn to diagnose and repair:
Engine and engine components such as drive and support systemsMobile plant braking systems, fluid power and steering systemsDrive assemblies and transmissionsElectrical and electronic circuit systemsEnsure the Dev MEM fleet maintenance is carried out in a professional and efficient manner following sound workmanship standards focused on quality of repair.Ensure housekeeping in all responsible work areas and when maintaining the mobile equipment fleet is maintained to the highest standard.Commit to maintaining health, safety and security standards and principles, both within own workplace and through the identification of potential risks throughout Evolution.Demonstrate behaviors aligned with the Evolution Mining values.About you Currently reside within the Parkes areaPrevious Cert II in Engineering is advantageous or those wanting to upskill on their current trade.Willingness to learnTeamwork focusedStrong organisational and communication skillsStrong commitment to safety as a way of workCurrent "C" Class Australian Drivers LicenceAt Evolution, as our name suggests, change and transformation is in our DNA.
