The Role
The Group Accounting Manager plays a key leadership role in overseeing corporate accounting functions across the group, ensuring the integrity and compliance of financial reporting, and supporting strategic objectives through accurate budgeting, forecasting, and audit coordination. Reporting to the Financial Planning & Controlling Manager and leading a team of 3, the role is vital in delivering operational excellence and driving continuous improvement. Your main responsibilities and duties will include but not be limited to:
1. Oversee month-end close and deliver accurate financial statements
2. Lead statutory reporting and audit processes
3. Drive budgeting and forecasting for balance sheet and cash flow
4. Ensure regulatory, tax, and compliance obligations are met
5. Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team
6. Prepare audit workpapers including technical accounting areas (e.g. impairment)
7. Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity and cleanliness
8. Contribute insights to monthly financial reports and dashboards
9. Liaise with finance teams across the Group to ensure timely completion of accounts
10. Other ad hoc duties as per directed
The Person
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned accounting professional with a solid background in corporate finance, audit, and statutory reporting - ideally within a complex or FMCG environment. You will obtain the following skills and experience:
1. 3+ years in a complex corporate finance environment, ideally FMCG
2. Demonstrated leadership experience and team management
3. Strong computer and technical skills (Excel and internal systems)
4. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
5. Sound understanding of corporate accounting and statutory reporting
6. Strong financial acumen gained through roles in various group finance functions
7. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
8. Ability to prioritise a busy workload and inform stakeholders on progress
