Journalism & Writing (Advertising, Arts & Media)Other (Education & Training) Full time About This Opportunity The newly established position of Manager, Media and Content will lead a small team, playing a crucial role in helping shape the University's storytelling and narrative for media, industry, government, and community audiences. Working closely with the Senior Manager, Media and Content, you will develop and execute communication content strategies within a dedicated portfolio, aligned with the University's strategic mission.Some key responsibilities include: Develop and implement a comprehensive content strategy to enhance UQ's reputation and align with strategic priorities, to deliver high-quality content and respond to media enquiries. Build relationships with UQ experts and specialist media to create relevant, strategically aligned content that meets high editorial standards across multiple platforms. Oversee content distribution strategies to maximise reach, monitor performance, and adjust tactics for optimal engagement. Provide expert advice on media and content development, collaborate across units, and ensure alignment with UQ's communication goals, including occasional after-hours support. You will work within a dedicated portfolio, collaborating with world-leading experts in the advanced technology, minerals and energy field to identify opportunities to promote our world-leading research and partnerships.For more information about this opportunity, please view the Position Description. About You Our ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in communication, media, or content roles, with a demonstrated track record of creating and implementing strategic content plans and who excels at seizing new opportunities as they emerge within the news cycle. You will possess excellent editorial judgment and a creative flair for crafting innovative content across multiple platforms, including video and digital media.We value a strategic thinker who can quickly grasp complex topics and solve problems effectively under tight deadlines, ensuring a consistently high standard of work.
