We are Plastic Wax - an independent and award-winning animation studio specializing in pre-rendered and in-engine animation, visual effects, motion capture, compositing, and a turnkey variety of creative services. For nearly 30 years our talented crew have worked with some of the world's most beloved properties, including Mortal Kombat, Game of Thrones, Epic Mickey, Subnautica, and many more.
We have exciting new projects on the horizon, and are in need of an experienced Producer to lead and support our team.
Responsibilities
* Successful production supervision and management of projects as directed by the company
* Drive production through the establishment and management through effective scheduling, project plans and milestones
* Allocate resources effectively, balancing the needs of multiple projects and ensuring optimal utilization of talent and technology
* Responsible for maintaining good client service, communications, management and reporting, including regular updates on project status, milestones, and any changes to scope or schedule
* Manage client expectations and handle feedback, ensuring that client needs are met while aligning with the studios capabilities
* Provide leadership to your production team and project guidance to departmental heads
* Oversee departmental productivity, quotas, priorities and resource requirements in accordance with budget, reporting regularly to Head of Production
* Report fortnightly on progress, schedule, project P&L and target KPI to the General Manager
* Identify bottlenecks in advance and propose solutions with relevant Supervisors / HODs to avoid project delays or budget overruns
* Facilitate and lead regular dailies with Heads of Departments and crew to ensure effective and timely reviews, feedback, client communication and dissemination of information to relevant crew / departments
* Manage crew overtime and oversee their general well being
* Work collaboratively with team members
* Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in visual effects production
Required Experience & Skills
* 8yrs+ industry experience
* Senior management level in a VFX, Animation, and / or Video Games studio
* Clear understanding of the CGI / VFX pipeline and practice
* Experience using Shotgun
* Expert people management and leadership skills
* Strong administrative and organizational skills
* Proven ability to manage and monitor multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
* Promote a collaborative and enjoyable workplace influencing morale, fostering purposeful discussion and positive work ethic
* Ability to develop and foster client relationships though effective communication
* Expert time management and prioritization skills
* Sharpened tactical and creative problem solving sensibilities with a can-do mindset
* Maintain a calm and professional demeanor in a deadline-focused work environment
Advantageous Experience & Skills
* A traditional arts background (e.g. photography, painting, sculpting, etc.)
* Passion for all things video games and animation
* 6-month contract with opportunities for extension and / or permanency
