Crisalida offers mental health services including psychology, occupational therapy, speech pathology, art therapy and family therapy.About You :Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from an APS accredited course or equivalent with 8 years minimum experience as a Grade 2 PsychologistListed as an approved supervisor (or eligible for being so listed once course completed) with AHPRA Current registration with AHPRA, with an endorsement in Clinical Psychology or eligibility towards same Current registration with Medicare as an approved provider Position Summary :The Senior Psychologist / clinical lead is responsible for assessing and diagnosing psychological disorders and providing evidence-based psychological therapies to adults, adolescents and children referred by GPs, psychiatrists and paediatricians within the Better Access to Mental Health Care, Chronic Disease Management, Helping Children with Autism initiatives, or under other arrangements.
To provide the same to individuals referred by schools, childcare providers, NDIS support co-ordinators or other providers, or those that self-refer, and access these services via self-funding, Private Health Insurance or NDIS funding sources.This clinical work would take approximately 65% of your role.
The remaining 35% will be as part of Crisalida's management team, and provides an opportunity to develop and guide a growing exciting team of young clinicians.
The role will provide clinical leadership and support, management and supervision.Key Requirements :Minimum 8 years experience in working with children and adolescents Demonstrated ability to use high level evidence-based therapeutic interventions (such as CBT, motivational interviewing, ACT, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy and others) to work with clients presenting with mental health concerns Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and supervision to staff and studentsDemonstrated experience in working with clients to conduct clinical assessments, develop collaborative care plans and formulations, conduct clinical reviews and complete discharge summaries within a strengths-based and recovery frameworkExperience in conducting clinical risk assessments and implementing risk management plans with clients, including working with clients assessed as mildmoderate risk of suicideAbility to use a desktop computer, with familiarity with MS Office applications and capacity to learn how to use a new clinical software package for keeping electronic client records.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to ensure that information is passed on to others who should be kept informed and to express yourself clearly and appropriately in verbal and written interactions Valid working with children check and National Police CheckJob Responsibility :Provision of Clinical Care:Provide an advanced range of evidence-based, focused psychological strategies (CBT, psycho-education, relaxation strategies, skills training, interpersonal therapy) to adolescents and children referred under a GP Mental Health Care Plan or under other funding arrangementsThis may also involve the development, facilitation and evaluation of group treatment programsMaintain accurate case notes for clients using an electronic clinical record and according to Practice protocols and professional standardsParticipate in case review meetings, contribute to care plans and participate in planned case conferences with GPs and other health professionals involved in the client's care as requiredProvide written reports to the client's referring GP with information regarding assessments undertaken, treatment provided; and recommendations on future management of the client's disorder, according to Practice protocolsProvide thorough NDIS Review reports as requested and required by clients during the annual NDIS review process: to include detailed discussion of client goals, assessments undertaken, treatment provided, progress made and recommendations on future goals and pathways to achieving those goalsContribute to service planning, policy and procedure development and other administrative functions relevant to service provision (including assessment procedures, fee structures, resource purchasing decisions)Contribute to the support and guidance of the mental health services provided at Crisalida through provision of clinical leadership and support to the therapy and admin/management teamCo-ordinate the Mental Health Peer Supervision group run principally for psychologists at Crisalida but open to all MH CliniciansProvide Supervision to junior and early career psychologists in the teamData AdministrationMaintain accurate client recordsEnsure clients fees are paid in a timely manner - either via strong recommendation for payment on the day in person, or timely emailing of invoices and follow up with administration to confirm payment has been received Self- Management and Team ContributionRole model Crisalida's organisational values and behaviours in all interactionsMaintain confidentiality in line with Code of Conduct and comply with all Crisalida Policies and ProceduresWork as part of a multidisciplinary teamParticipate in the training and supervision of placement students, assistants and staff of other disciplines where appropriate and provide in-service education in areas relevant to psychology service provision as requiredProvide input into the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols within the work areaParticipate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve client careComply with all professional development requirements for maintenance of registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of AustraliaParticipate in scheduled performance appraisals; undertake further training and skills development identified for optimum ongoing performance in the job roleActively participate in professional development including continuing education opportunities provided through the organisation and regular clinical and cultural supervisionWork within the legal and ethical frameworks required by the organisation and the psychology professionStreamline procedures for seamless client care within Crisalida and with external providersWork in a healthy and safe manner and encourage others to do the same; comply with all warning and safety signage; report or rectify any unsafe conditions; adhere to Crisalida's Workplace Health and Safety policies and proceduresJob Functions :PsychologyJob Benefits :Become the final member of our leadership team, providing support and supervision and helping guide a growing team of young clinicians.
