We have the newly createdposition of In-House Counsel based at ourPier St office in Perth. Reporting to our Chief Financial Officer,this position will be our subject matter expert on all pertinentlegal matters as they relate to the existing business and new areasof business growth.
1. Permanent part-time role offered at 0.6 full-time equivalent hours (FTE)
2. Hours worked flexibly as agreed between the successful applicant and the CFO
About therole
3. Responsible for advising on all legal matters, with the support of external legal advisors where appropriate.
4. Understand and interpret the requirements of the key laws and regulations that Bethanie is required to comply with.
5. Legal advisory duties will include: Conducting legal and commercial reviews of a wide range of contracts and business arrangements Providing general commercial law advice including advice on business transactions, drafting, advising on and negotiating commercial contracts and tender submission, business / asset acquisitions and disposals Identifying and managing legal risks in relation to claims, contracts and operations
6. Governance and compliance advisory duties including managing Bethanie’s corporate structure compliance framework.

You are an exceptionalcommunicator with a demonstrated ability to provide strategic legaladvice and solutions in complex and highly regulated environments.You have strong problem-solving abilities to navigate complex legalchallenges with integrity.
You must also be able tomeet the following criteria:
7. Bachelor of Laws and 6 – 9 years post admission experience.
8. Minimum of 2 years’ experience as in-house counsel.
9. Previous experience working in the Aged Care, Retirement Villages or Community Industries or with a large Not-fot-Profit organisation is desirable but not essential.
