Regional Oncology Specialist Role
The Regional Oncology Specialist role will partner with our customers - oncologists, nurses, interventional radiologists, pharmacists, and other healthcare providers within the clinical environment to provide access to BD’s suite of oncology solutions to minimize the healthcare workers' risk of drug exposure, the patient’s risk of infection, and support better patient outcomes during the oncology journey. The role develops and maintains key customer relationships within a designated sales territory, understands relevant unmet customer needs in the area of oncology, and implements BD product solutions that will result in positive outcomes for both patients and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities:
Achievement of agreed sales targets for the BDI (Ports, CVC and Pleurex) and MDS range of infusion therapy and vascular access products.
Establish, implement and review a territory plan including goals and specific actions.
Effectively build and manage relationships with key customers along the continuum from end-users to c-suite.
Ensure that we are meeting or exceeding expectations through a collaborative approach.
Develop expertise in the clinical areas of Oncology by building and maintaining a comprehensive understanding of customer practices.
Demonstrate the use and advantages of the BD Oncology solutions; conduct product training, demonstrations, and validations with prospective customers.
Ensure profitable opportunities are leveraged through professional Selling Skills including sales call planning, Strategic Selling, SFDC, and Conversion management.
Provide management with market insights which includes clinical practices, competitive activity, product assessment, and industry trends.
Maintain an accurate and current CRM database of all accounts including activities, opportunities, risks and customer contact details.
Attend relevant industry trade shows, conferences, and meetings as required.
Maintain company property, including computer equipment, in good working condition and also in an image that reflects the professional standards of BD at all times.
Ensure compliance with all Quality Management System and BD policies.
Skills and Experience:
Demonstrated previous experience in medical device sales or clinical education. Proven anatomical, clinical and technical ability and experience in managing complex procedures and products (Essential).
Experience working with sites of oncology treatment (oncology wards, day infusion labs, interventional radiology, pharmacy) and knowledge of oncology treatment regimes (Essential).
Education in healthcare or sciences is desirable.
Strong business acumen skills.
Demonstrated negotiation and influencing skills.
Ability to interpret and analyse sales data to grow sales in alignment with marketing and sales execution strategy.
Demonstrated competence in computer literacy with knowledge of MS office; experience with CRM programs an advantage.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
Demonstrated effective listening skills and interpersonal savvy.
Problem solving ability and demonstrated examples of providing innovative solutions.
Demonstrated ability in matching and delivering the appropriate level of customer support with the value of the business opportunity.
Ability to deal with multiple priorities and short timelines, from time to time, with high attention to detail.
Ability to work autonomously.
Other Working Conditions:
Some weekend work may be required as will out of normal business hours work.
Domestic travel may be required.
Drivers licence essential.
