Clinical Practitioner (Nursing and Midwifery)
Job Summary
This is a Continuing / Part Time role located at La Trobe University's Bundoora Campus. We are seeking a Clinical Practitioner to join our team and teach nursing and midwifery education.
About the Role
A Level B Clinical Practitioner is responsible for teaching-related duties involving the creation, delivery and content of nursing and midwifery education. This includes direct teaching informed by approaches that enhance the student experience, curriculum design and review, advancements in education technologies, and involvement in the professional accreditation of courses.
Clinical Practitioners work closely with other members of our team to support students undertaking undergraduate studies in nursing and midwifery, ensuring that we deliver an outstanding student experience.
Clinical Practitioners may be allocated up to 100% of their workload in the combined categories of teaching, activities related to teaching, and teaching scholarship.
Duties
* Teach subjects, primarily at undergraduate level, providing a high-quality learning experience that engages students through the conduct of face-to-face lectures, practical classes, workshops, clinical sessions, and/or other sessions.
* Preparation and marking of student assessments, including moderation.
* Initiating and participating in innovative subject and course level curriculum design (including the embedding of employability capabilities), including taking an evidence-based approach to evaluating how these initiatives improve the student experience.
* Student consultation including the provision of constructive, fair and timely feedback on learning to students.
* Liaising effectively with external partners and carefully mentoring/supervising students undertaking clinical placement.
Requirements
* A Masters or equivalent accreditation and standing recognised by the University/profession as appropriate for the nursing and/or midwifery disciplines.
* Registered or eligible to register as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
* Demonstrated effectiveness in teaching, curriculum development and subject coordination in face-to-face, blended and/or online modes, as evidenced by sustained high results on student feedback on teaching surveys, teaching excellence awards or through other forms of evidence.
* Recent and relevant contemporary clinical/professional experience as relevant to the nursing and/or midwifery disciplines.
