Position Details
HASS TEACHER
We are seeking a dedicated and engaging HASS Teacher to join our College. This is a full-time, temporary position commencing (Term 2), 28 April 2025 – 31 December 2025.
Reporting to the Head of Learning Area – HASS, you will be a dynamic, committed and high performing HASS Teacher, with the ability to teach lower school HASS, with the ability to teach Business Management and Enterprise, Economics or Religious Education (preferably). We are seeking an agile and energetic Teacher to join our dedicated team.
Your responsibilities as a HASS Teacher include:
1. The ability to teach year 7 – 10 HASS.
2. The ability to teach Business Management and Enterprise ATAR and General, Economics ATAR and or Religious Education would be advantageous.
3. The ability to effectively lead a Pastoral Care Group (PCG).
4. The ability to be flexible and adaptable in the implementation of differentiation in the classroom.
5. The ability to demonstrate innovation in teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in all subject matters.
6. A willingness to collaborate on creating new programs of work across a range of years and lead a subject year level teaching team.
7. To work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
Selection Criteria
1. A dedicated and experienced HASS Teacher.
2. A sound understanding of the West Australian curriculum: HASS and the ability to incorporate, assess and report on it in all programs.
3. Experience in designing and delivering differentiated units of work.
4. The willingness and flexibility to apply new technologies and innovations to enhance student learning.
5. The willingness to teach as part of a HASS team that goes above and beyond for each other and the students. This may involve assisting with extra-curricular activities, clubs, competitions or lunch time catch up sessions.
6. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-paced working environment.
7. An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
Qualifications Required
1. Undergraduate degree in a specific discipline with a Graduate Diploma of Education (Secondary) or Bachelor of Education.
Applicants must have a current registration as a teacher with the Teacher Registration Board of WA (TRBWA) to be eligible for appointment. Information is available from the TRBWA.
