Bambara Primary School is an independent public school located in Padbury, providing excellence in education for students in Kindergarten to Year 6. The Role
Join our team as a gardener-handyperson and contribute to fostering a positive learning environment! The gardener-handyperson is responsible for maintaining the school grounds in a safe and tidy condition and conducive to a positive environment for students, staff, parents and the community. This includes maintaining soft landscapes such as turf areas, garden beds, shrubs, trees, and marking sport areas as well as having a vision to improve existing garden beds and the school grounds. Additionally, the gardener-handyperson will maintain hard landscaping features such as courts and paving and monitor the bore and maintain reticulation.
The gardener-handyperson is also responsible for maintaining the gardening facilities, equipment, tools and machinery in a clean and serviceable condition and the safe storage of chemicals and fuels, reporting faults promptly and adhering to safe work practices.
Ideally, the gardener-handyperson will have effective communication and interpersonal skills and be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with the manager corporate services and administration team, cleaner in charge and school staff, P&C, contractors and the school community. Being honest, reliable and punctual are highly regarded. The ideal applicant should have the capacity to work unsupervised, be able to identify what work needs to be completed and schedule gardening tasks without specific direction from the manager corporate services.
