The key duties of the position include The Role Financial Systems and Operations Branch within Defence Finance Group are seeking a motivated and high performing individual to support the Defence Treasury team. This is an opportunity for a finance/banking professional to contribute to all aspects of treasury and corporate appropriation management in a large Commonwealth agency. We are looking for a Treasury professional with an understanding of Treasury processing, reporting and accounting processes capable to meet legislative, accounting and stakeholder requirements. You will be a part of a highly operational team working with stakeholders daily to ensure Treasury matters are progressed and deadlines are met. This role offers work of high strategic importance to Defence in a diverse, dynamic and supportive Branch. Your key responsibilities may include: Contributing to cash and liquidity management activities; Performing treasury reporting activities to meet legislative, accounting and stakeholder requirements; Using financial management knowledge and experience to provide advice to stakeholders on treasury matters; Applying expertise to compose and review treasury related briefs, ministerials, reports and correspondence; Building and sustaining effective relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts to resolve treasury issues; Working collaboratively with stakeholders and subject matter experts to progress treasury matters in accordance with Defence objectives; Interpreting and complying with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks; and Evaluating treasury issues and recommending solutions to achieve business outcomes. About our Team The Directorate of Treasury provides shared service Treasury functions to the Department of Defence, Australian Submarine Agency and the Australian Signals Directorate. The team plays a crucial strategic role in managing Defence's appropriations and bank accounts, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. In addition to managing financial transactions, the Treasury team offers policy guidance on the establishment, administration, reporting and reconciliations of external bank accounts. They also provide strategic advice to ensure that Defence funding is promptly delivered to its intended recipients both domestically and internationally.
