Job Summary
The IPM Technician works closely with the Cultivation Management team to oversee all Integrated Pest Management activities. This includes eliminating and controlling undesirable insects with minimal supervision. The IPM Technician is well-versed in proper application methodology, including calibration, application procedures, and insect, arachnid, and vertebrate identification.
Primary Responsibilities
* Apply IPM products, including sprays and biological control agents.
* Scout all cultivation areas for signs and symptoms of pests, pathogens, and other plant health issues.
* Identify insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests and create treatment plans based on their physiology.
* Measure area dimensions requiring treatment and calculate chemical requirements to address specific pest issues.
* Operate, maintain, and repair equipment as needed.
* Coordinate scheduling of work orders with the Cultivation Management team.
* Stay current on practices and local, state, and federal codes and regulations related to IPM in agriculture.
* Ensure timely submission of all required records.
* Implement quality standards and conduct follow-up inspections.
* Maintain a commercial applicators license for the Pest category and complete required training.
* Maintain effective written and oral communication with the Cultivation Management team.
* FOLLOW standard operating procedures for assigned tasks and projects and adhere to all safety protocols.
* Clean all cultivation areas regularly to prevent the buildup of algae and debris.
* Maintain cleanliness of cultivation areas and ensure sanitation procedures are followed.
* Work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
* Additional ad hoc projects, tasks, and responsibilities will apply.
* Maintain compliance with company SOPs and report changes or updates to management as needed.
Job Requirements
* Minimum 2+ years' field or greenhouse pest management experience or an undergraduate degree in a related field.
* Obtain a State Certified Applicator license in the Pest category within 90 days.
* Ability to identify insects, arthropods, vertebrates, and other pests and create treatment plans based on their physiology.
* Physical aptitude and health necessary to perform manual labor tasks required for the proper management of a commercial grow.
* Display accountability, proactive behavior, and strong attention to detail.
* Strong attention to detail and ability to adhere to strict policies and procedures.
* Well-organized and able to keep deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
* Age requirement: 21 years or older.
* Full knowledge of all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements to maintain facility compliance at all times.
* Able to obtain and retain a Registered Agent Card issued by the state of operation.
* Able to internalize training and follow instructions.
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively.
