What you'll be doing The Mental Health Clinician role at WSLHD offers an opportunity to provide specialised mental health care for older adults in Western Sydney, supporting their recovery and wellbeing. Conducts mental health assessments and care planning for OPMH consumers. Manages crisis interventions and acute mental health support. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams for holistic care. Provides therapy, counselling, and support to consumers and families. Ensures high standards of documentation and confidentiality. Essential Criteria Qualification: Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist and current registration with AHPRA or Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist Selection Criteria Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessment and management, including assessment, crisis intervention and care coordination. Skills demonstrating capacity to conduct clinical risk assessment and management including suicide risk management. Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated understanding of the range of healthy ageing processes and common physical, social, cultural and mental health needs of older people. An understanding of recovery models in mental health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice. Experience working in mental health and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007). Current Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to drive for work purpose.
