Public Cloud Backup-Storage
Delivery Ramp Up / Service Delivery - On-Prem Storage
Role Overview: As a Cloud Storage and Backup Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in Azure Storage, VMware VSAN Storage, SAN Storage, and backup solutions to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our storage systems. You will work closely with our IT and cloud teams to implement, manage, and optimize our storage and backup strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
* Azure Storage Management: Administer and optimize Azure Storage solutions, including Blob Storage, Disk Storage, and File Storage. Implement and manage storage accounts, access controls, and performance tuning.
* VMware VSAN Storage: Configure and maintain VMware VSAN Storage environments, ensuring high availability and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VSAN.
* SAN Storage Administration: Manage and support SAN (Storage Area Network) storage solutions, including provisioning, monitoring, and performance tuning.
* Azure Backup Implementation: Implement and manage Microsoft Azure Backup solutions, including configuring backup policies, managing recovery services vaults, and ensuring compliance with backup and recovery policies.
* Microsoft Azure Recovery Solutions: Administer and support Microsoft Azure Recovery Services, including Azure Site Recovery and disaster recovery solutions. Ensure effective data protection and recovery strategies.
* Incident Management: Handle and resolve incidents related to storage and backup systems. Provide timely and effective support to minimize downtime and data loss.
* Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and policies. Generate regular reports on storage usage, backup status, and recovery readiness.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and optimize storage and backup operations. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
* Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience with Azure Storage, VMware VSAN Storage, SAN Storage, Azure Backup, Microsoft Azure Backup, and Microsoft Azure Recovery Solutions.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in managing and configuring Azure Storage and Backup solutions, VMware VSAN, and SAN environments. Familiarity with disaster recovery and high availability strategies.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or VMware Certified Professional (VCP) are a plus.
* Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve complex storage and backup issues efficiently.
* Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and changing environments. Willingness to continuously learn and grow in the field
Due to the secure nature of the role, Australian citizens with a federal government security clearance will be preferred.
