Reporting directly to the Specialist – Occupational Hygiene, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:
Promoting and driving a strong safety culture in line with QAL's valuesEnsuring compliance with site health, environmental, and community policies, systems, and proceduresHandling and directing of general occupational hygiene queriesAssisting with respirator and hearing protection fit-testing programsConducting occupational personal exposure monitoring and overseeing the feedback processPerforming other occupational hygiene sampling, measurements, coordinating offsite laboratory analysis, data management, and assisting with report compilation as requiredSupporting the work of Occupational Hygiene Advisors as requiredManaging calibration, servicing, and repairs of occupational hygiene equipment and instrumentationDeveloping and reviewing occupational hygiene documentationProviding Occupational Hygiene training and assessments as requiredUndertaking role related occupational hygiene projects as requiredTo be considered for this role, you should have: A strong commitment to ensuring the safety of yourself and your teamCompletion of the Basic Principles of Occupational Hygiene course, or a willingness to complete the training within 12 months of appointmentA continuous improvement mindset, always seeking ways to enhance processes, efficiency and outcomesAbility to thrive in a dynamic team environment and respond effectively to regular enquiriesExperience applying occupational hygiene principles in an industrial setting preferredExperience in occupational exposure monitoring preferredCapability to work independently and manage structured tasks within set timeframesProficiency in computer applications, particularly within the Microsoft Office suite, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Power BI, Power Apps, etc, preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to develop strong workplace relationships at different levels of the businessWhat's on offer We know there are many aspects of our employees' lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life.
