Position Title: Chef
Salary Range: $74000 to $76000
We are looking for a qualified, experienced and energetic Chef to join our team at Marrakech Restaurant in North Adelaide. Your culinary expertise will ensure that every meal is a delightful experience, tailored to individual preferences and upholding the highest food safety standards.
Chef Position Description:
* Full kitchen role with involvement in menu preparation, budgets, stock management, ordering and receiving of supplies.
* Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food and monitoring quality of dishes at stages of preparation
* Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes
* Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities
* Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
* Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, kitchen and waiting staff
* Following health and safety requirements and enforcing hygiene regulations.
* Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
* Train new staff and collaborate with other team members
* Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment
To be considered for this role, you should:
* Hold an AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
* Have at least 2 year work experience working as a chef in a fast paced environment
* Possess a positive attitude and work well with other team members
* Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
* Able to work in a fast paced environment; multitask and handle stress;
* Able to commit beyond normal working hours as and when required.
