Position: Chef (Hospitality & Tourism)
Employment Type: Full-time, 38 hours per week
Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 per annum plus superannuation
About Us:
Galloyakoo Restaurant is a restaurant in regional New South Wales that
specializes in Sri Lankan and Western cuisine. We are seeking a dedicated and
experienced Chef to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare, cook, and present dishes in accordance with our high standards.
Create and curate innovative menus that reflect seasonal availability and
customer preferences as well as out Sri Lankan cuisine focus.
Ensure customer satisfaction by consistently delivering high-quality dishes.
Monitor stock levels and order supplies to maintain cost-effectiveness.
Mentoring and managing other kitchen staff including cooks as well as
interacting with front of house team.
Oversee food preservation and rotation to minimize wastage.
Train and assist kitchen staff in dish preparation and specialist ingredient
knowledge.
Participate in the selection and training of new kitchen staff.
Manage kitchen staff and ensure compliance with health regulations at all
times.
Liaise with restaurant owners on the commercial and strategic operation of
the restaurant and its kitchen team.
Requirements:
Suitable qualifications as well as a minimum of 2 years of experience in a
similar role.
Have a commercial focus and be able to manage our kitchen operations.
Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
Consistency and reliability in performance.
Compensation:
Annual salary of $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
