About You
You are a people leader and a project delivery expert with the ability to manage and develop a team of project management professionals.
You have demonstrated ability in a management role with exposure to a broad range of disciplines, and a proven track record of delivering against agreed business outcomes within a major commercial environment.
You have extensive experience in the negotiation of contracts and delivery of multi-discipline complex infrastructure construction projects with a background in an engineering design, build & commission operating environment with scope greater than $100 million
You have proven background in the delivery of HV infrastructure construction integrating distribution, generation,
renewables, operate and maintain, protection and comms from inception to practical completion in a contracting
environment.
You have strong HSEQ focus and leadership capability demonstrated by high levels of team passion and commitment for delivery, and achieving strong results in areas of commercial performance and customer satisfaction.
You have a detailed knowledge of Critical Path Management, Earned Value Management, advanced resource allocation, project baseline comparisons and project reporting.
You have proven ability to exercise independent judgement accompanied by a high level financial, budgetary, pricing and risk assessment skills along with commercial savviness and entrepreneurial insight.
You have demonstrated success as an agent of change within a medium sized company undergoing significant
transformation to improve its commercial and competitive standing.
You have demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels and successfully negotiate with and influence customer and senior level stakeholders in defining project delivery solutions and decisions in line with performance targets
You have demonstrated success in leading organisational change and delivering sustainable business improvements.
The Position
We’re currently recruiting a Project Director who provides the central point of leadership, direction and control for Tier 3 projects within the Engineering & Project Delivery division of Yurika.
This is a permanent position, located in any major centre (Queensland) and is accountable to the GM Engineering & Project Delivery.
This is an above award level position and remuneration will be graded on the successful applicants experience, qualifications and ability to successful deliver the position requirements.
Some of your responsibilities include:
15. Motivate and lead a multi disciplinary team towards the achievement of the organisation's strategic goals.
16. Develop and mentor performance of all employees through performance review, maintaining position descriptions and approved training plans.
17. Provide leadership, coaching and mentoring to project managers, construction managers to manage interfaces between the project management team and internal and external stakeholders, and mediate in issue management between project managers and external stakeholders and team members
18. Responsible and accountable for contract negotiation and ensuring that the infrastructure program of work is delivered on time, to budget, and as per client signed contract.
19. Manage all aspects the Contract including performance (internal resource and external contractor), whilst addressing and remedying issues in the short term and long term.
20. Manage all project management resourcing aspects of projects working and negotiating with strategic delivery partners to source and build a team of skilled staff who are passionate, innovative and delivery focused.
21. Full accountability for all aspects of project management; change management; schedule management; quality and risk management; budget, cost control, and cost forecasting
22. Accountable for initial contract negotiation and ongoing meeting of customer needs and operational objectives by working through issues effectively and proactively identifying and addressing risks and issues to achieving full project recovery as per contracted conditions.
23. Develop, manage and improve project management and control systems for all projects under management of Engineering & Project Delivery team including methodologies, templates and reports.
24. Provide regular, timely summary reporting, to the Board level, in dashboard format detailing project management performance and remedial actions.
25. Collaborates effectively managing information and confidentiality requirements across Energy Queensland Limited in accordance with applicable ring-fencing parameters.
26. Demonstrate a personal commitment to health, safety and environment and support a diverse and inclusive workplace
Essentials
27. Degree level qualifications in a related field (Business, Management, HR) or appropriate management experience Formal project management and project director accreditation equivalent to Australian Institute Project Management (AIPM), PMBOK, Diploma, PMP or equivalent demonstrated project management experience.
28. C’ class drivers licence
29. Experience on HV Infrastructure projects > $100m
