We are seeking 2 Lactation Consultant's on a part-time basis to assist in the provision of care across the 6 days of the week in which the service operates.
The lactation service runs Monday - Saturday with 6 hours per day Monday to Friday + 4 hours on a Saturday.

We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park.
The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.
Our private maternity suite is focused on the best possible care for families in the Newcastle region; containing 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery.
Key Responsibilities:Provide expert lactation consultation and support to new mothers during their hospital stayConduct thorough assessments to identify breastfeeding challenges and develop individualised care plansOffer education and guidance on breastfeeding techniques, positioning, and infant feeding cuesCollaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care for mother-infantEducate and empower nursing and midwifery staff and other healthcare professionals on evidence-based breastfeeding practicesMaintain accurate documentation of lactation consultations, plans and outcomesQualifications:Current IBCLC status as a Certified Lactation ConsultantBachelor's degree in Nursing or MidwiferyPostgraduate qualifications in a relevant field will be highly advantageousRegistered as Midwife/Nurse with AHPRAMinimum 5 years' experience with Lactation in an acute hospital setting.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with diverse teams.Knowledge of the NSQHS clinical care standards and accreditation requirementsCommitment to continuing education and staying updated on current practices in lactation support.Why Healthscope?

Staff in patient contact roles will be required to provide proof of immunity to specified infectious diseases as a Category A Healthcare worker If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF - NSW Nurses and Midwives' - Enterprise Agreement 2020 - 2024, this role is classed as a Clinical Nursing Consultant with a rate of pay ranging from $63.71-65.02 - per hour.
