Community Mental Health Nurse - Port Lincoln
An exciting opportunity exists in South Australia to work as a Registered Nurse and as part of an Acute Care Mental Health Team.
The team provides acute care and crisis services to mental health clients. The role is a challenging one and ideal for someone who is looking at developing their skills and experience and making a positive difference in peoples' lives.
The role involves a range of specialist mental health interventions within a multidisciplinary team including triage, comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, clinical formulation, management of risks and safety planning, brief psycho-education and close liaison with all relevant stakeholders as part of cooperative care and discharge planning.
Working over a 7 day roster and working with a supportive team. This role offers many opportunities for growth.

Selection Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Nursing, post graduate diploma in Mental Health (or willing to enroll) and current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
Demonstrated core competency skills in Mental Health interventions in the Community.
Experience in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, risk assessment, safety planning and the provision of cooperative care and discharge planning.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery
Demonstrated experience working with people with an acute mental illness or disorder including experience in detainment, medication and monitoring
Demonstrated experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to exercise independent professional judgment on routine matters, commensurate with years of experience
Demonstrated experience with esculations to in-patient admissions and arranging hospital transportation
Demonstrated computer skills and the capacity to use health information systems
Understanding and knowledge of mental health principles of consumer focused and strengths-based practices in acute community mental health setting
Great communication skills with voicing plans, intentions and expected outcomes to family, friends, service providers and other authorities
