Since 2001, Northrop Grumman has delivered Through-Life Support to the Royal Australian Air Force's 34 Squadron located at RAAF Fairbairn in Canberra. The high-performing Northrop Grumman SPA (Special Purpose Aircraft) team is comprised of approximately 50 staff who provide all levels of maintenance, training and logistics support to the fleet of two Boeing BBJ's and three Dassault Falcon 7X's Business Jets.
Your Role:
As the SPA Technical Services Officer reporting directly to the SPA Engineering & Technical Services Manager, you will embrace a pivotal position at the heart of operations at 34 Squadron (RAAF Fairbairn). This strategic role not only situates you on-site to ensure optimal interaction and oversight but also entrusts you with the platform stewardship, aligning with our core objectives. You will lead a dynamic team, fostering a collaborative environment to meet and exceed our goals in aircraft airworthiness, safety, availability, reliability, maintainability, mission success, and life cycle costs.
In your capacity, you will perform various CAM Services technical functions, driving towards excellence in aircraft maintenance and support. Your role will be instrumental in supporting the development and implementation of continuous improvement strategies, ensuring our engineering practices not only meet but surpass the stringent standards of airworthiness and operational readiness. Through effective engagement with the broader SPA Engineering & Technical Services community, your leadership will be a cornerstone in advancing our mission and maintaining our reputation for excellence in aviation services.
About You:
Your background includes a formal Engineering or Technical qualification or practical aircraft maintenance experience, supplemented by substantial experience in the Defence/Aerospace industry, where you have demonstrated your capability in diverse technical teams. Adept in communication and relationship management, you possess the engineering and technical knowledge essential for a deep understanding of complex engineering tasks. Your experience is complemented by a comprehensive understanding of the regulations and standards critical to aircraft airworthiness.
Desirably, you have additional technical qualifications in planning and scheduling, and you are skilled in using project management tools. Your experience extends to planning, managing, and coordinating technical tasks within a project environment. With a strong grasp of the entire product lifecycle and best engineering practices, including the delivery of Continuing Airworthiness (CA) services.
