It’s a promise we make to the people who entrust us with their careers and their personal development.About the role:The Head of GPS Wealth is responsible for leading the GPS brand and community and managing all elements of the Practice Development function to deliver against the KPIs within the strategic growth plan.Key Responsibilities:Practice DevelopmentDevelop and implement initiatives to achieve the GPS Wealth and Count strategies and associated targets.Develop overarching engagement framework for firms, targeting business growth and implement efficient “best practice” business operations.Identify and contribute to the development and rollout of innovative technology solutions to enhance revenue growth opportunities and create back-office efficiencies.Proactively identify business issues, gaps and develop strategies/business cases to resolve.Drive profitable growth by managing business drivers, costs and revenue and develop strategies to improve business performance with strong adviser engagement.Maintain high ethical standards, confidentiality and professionalism and always lead by example in that regard.Keep abreast of industry developments and provide insights on improvements and opportunities for GPS Wealth.Provide leadership in the coaching of GPS Wealth firms to adhere to the Licensee Standards and the GPS Wealth compliance framework.Lead a strong compliance culture across the team, where regulatory obligations are met, and immediate action is taken to report any breaches, conduct or compliance concerns identified across the network with deficiencies rectified proactively.Firm EngagementProactively work to establish and maintain effective GPS Wealth firm relationships and continually look for ways to add value.Continually seek feedback as to quality of support to continually exceed expectations.Respond efficiently and effectively to firm queries in accordance with the team’s SLAs.Facilitate knowledge sharing between firms to enhance their operational performance and knowledge.Support and promote GOM and CARE to new and existing users.Promote and embed the Count Charitable Foundation into the GPS Wealth network.Strategic ManagementProvide input into the formulation of the annual business plan in consultation with the leadership team.Assist the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) in the delivery of the approved annual business plan.Drive an increase in GPS Wealth revenue and margin contribution to the Group including growing AFSL fee revenue.Promote the brand within our “house of brands” strategy.Leadership and CultureDevelop and share our vision and communicate this effectively at all levels of the business.Work closely with other managers to promote a client first culture that reinforces our behaviours.Manage employee issues, including leave, recruitment, and performance.Build and maintain a high-performance culture through effective performance management, communication, and coaching of staff.Present as professional and knowledgeable in all interactions.Contribute to and support the development of the team – continually build and share knowledge and engage in ongoing personal career growth.Process and System ImprovementInvestigate and implement projects to improve productivity, quality, risk management, safety and client service.Continually review work practices and recommend ways in which practices, systems and/or processes can be improved.Actively promote a culture that focuses on quality output.Get the most out of the Count resources for the GPS Wealth firms.Essential Qualifications and Experience:Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as financial planning, finance, commerce or law.10+ years’ experience in financial services and a strong belief in the importance of financial advice.Experience and capability to act as a Responsible Manager on an AFS Licence.Ability to build effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.Ability to cope with pressure, resolve challenges pragmatically and maintain an even temperament.Growth mindset and an ambitious, optimistic outlook.Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrable presentation skills and experience and a strong stage presence.Excellent understanding of the financial planning process, the legislative and regulatory framework and financial products and solutions.Ability to act with discretion and treat confidential information appropriately.Sound time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks.Strong attention to detail and business acumen.Deep and strong governance and risk management knowledge and experience.Advanced capability to move quickly and manage change effectively.Advanced analytical and reasoning capabilities.Demonstrated experience in sourcing and recruiting financial planning firms, advisers and development of Professional Year candidates.Experience managing and leading high performing teams.
