Clerk Grade 11/12 Salary – $139,787 - $161,663 pa, plus employer’s contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your role
As Category Manager, Human Services, these two categories will fall under your remit, managing these areas as part of a wider Procurement team within DCJ. You will be responsible for managing a team of staff under this category, while also working collaboratively with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. The Category Manager is responsible for procurement processes, systems, training and reporting.
The Procurement Team’s primary focus is to support and deliver cost effective procurement activities to achieve government objectives.
What you’ll do
As part of the Procurement team within Finance and Procurement Services division, you will provide leadership and direction in the categories under management, including supply market management and development, strategic planning and execution, and contract and risk management activities, to meet business needs.
Some of the key responsibilities are (but not limited to):
1. Develop, lead and execute category plans and sourcing strategies based on research and analysis to optimise value for money outcomes and meet stakeholder needs and expectations
2. Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on category objectives while encouraging opportunity and innovation
3. Lead negotiations on high impact, complex supply arrangements and contract issues to deliver better category outcomes
4. Provide expert advice to key stakeholders on all aspects of procurement and the procurement category, to encourage innovative practices and support delivery of business and policy directions
5. Develop and implement category management plan to meet business needs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and challenge and motivate providers to optimise service outcomes
6. Lead and manage the category management team and cross-functional working groups to achieve a high-level of performance, integration and consistency in procurement across the category
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced Manger with exceptional time management skills. You will have a strong knowledge of NSW Procurement Framework and experience managing contracts in a fast-paced environment. You will have a strong knowledge of current procurement policies and exceptional stakeholder management skills and customer service.
In addition, you will also demonstrate:
A strong knowledge of NSW Procurement framework
A strong knowledge of Procurement policies and procedures
Experience in systems including Procurement Central highly desired
