Role Responsibilities The Clinical Application Specialist position (Sydney based) is responsible for training customers (Ophthalmologists and Staff) on the approved utilization of Alcon products (vision suite and laser ophthalmic devices) to ensure safe and appropriate use for optimal patient outcomes.Provide technical and clinical training, education and ongoing clinical support to train surgeons and OR staff on the approved use and application of Alcon's Vision Suite and Refractive Surgical Ophthalmic Device Products, including Argos, Verion, Ora, Ngenuity and Lensx, Wavelight etc.Provide on-site and/or remote clinical application support to customers by providing scientific, technical information in response to inquiries regarding approved use of Alcon medical devices.Ensure successful implementation of all equipment and software upgrades at clinical sites for all relevant devicesRequirements: Education/Qualifications: Minimum/Essential:? Bachelor's Degree (preferred) OR? Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Technician? Minimum of 2-4 years of clinical experience as a Technician in a surgical practiceSkills/Experience: Minimum/Essential:? Minimum 2-4 years clinical experience in Ophthalmic Surgical or clinical setting.? Deep understanding of laser mechanics/engineering and technical elements of the devices.? Root cause analysis / problem solving skills.? Thorough understanding of medical device regulations.? Demonstrated communication skills (oral and written).? Clear understanding of SOPs regarding interactions with Health Care Professionals.? Proven ability to function in a matrix organization.? Flexible with travel to New Zealand and Regional NSW.
