Why This Role Matters Journey to Social Inclusion is a case management service and a new Salvation Army initiative for long-term homelessness in Melbourne, offering intensive support to help individuals secure permanent housing and improve their quality of life.
The service model includes intensive case management, rapid housing access, trauma-informed practices, skills for inclusion, and fostering independence.
A consortium of organizations, including Sacred Heart Mission, The Salvation Army, Uniting Vic/Tas, and Vincent Care Victoria, delivers the program, with support from the Victorian Government's Early Intervention Investment Fund.
The position in the Practice Leadership and Development Team provides trauma-informed support, clinical supervision, training, and group reflective practice to service teams, aiming to integrate theory and practice while developing resources and supporting strategic priorities.
About The Role We are seeking a dedicated Practice Lead in a permanent part-time capacity, 19 hours per week.
This position is based out of Geelong.
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the Social Community Home Care and Disability Services Award Level 6. Key Responsibilities: Incorporate trauma-informed practice into all staff supports.Provide regular practice supervision for J2SI support roles and group reflective practice to program teams.Offer secondary consultation and advice on complex client cases and develop tailored training for team needs.Work within TSA supervision and risk management frameworks, keeping the Principal Practice Leader and Program Manager informed.Contribute to the TSA Strategic Plan and evaluate Practice Development activities.Attend team meetings, service planning, and all-staff J2SI meetings.Support the Principal Practice Lead with Practice Supervision and Reflective Practice.Contribute to J2SI consortium projects and collaborate with Senior Practice Leaders.Align service delivery with National and state Strategic Plans and the National Homelessness Stream's Model of Care.Build positive relationships with local services and attend network meetings.Participate in supervision, professional development, and monitor individual training plans with the manager.Foster a reflective practice culture, attend practice reflection sessions.Maintain positive relationships with J2SI staff, consortium, and partners, working collaboratively with Service Managers and Coordinators.Follow health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.Contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) by identifying areas to add value and implement innovative solutions.Engage in learning to integrate trauma-informed practices into work and participate in supervision and performance and development.About You: A recognised Social Work/Psychology degree or equivalent.Relevant post-graduate qualification or demonstrated substantial experience in the provision of practice supervision.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of development, attachment, and trauma theories as they relate to homelessness.Knowledge of at least two evidence-based therapeutic approaches to supporting recovery from trauma as relates to long-term homelessness.Demonstrated experience in providing trauma-informed support interventions such as practice-based supervision, group reflective practice, secondary consultation, training, and other professional development activities.A current and valid Working with Children's Check.A valid Victorian Driver's license.What we offer NFP salary packaging ($15,900 tax free) plus meals and entertainment benefit ($2,650).Health, fitness and financial discounts / benefits.Paid parental leave - 12 weeks.Staff store discount.Up to 8 weeks leave per year through our purchase leave scheme.Up to 5 days paid leave per year to 'volunteer' in a TSA program or activity.Purpose driven career with positive social and sustainable outcomes.Employee Assistance Program - Independent confidential counselling service.Opportunity for career development.An inclusive culture of dedicated, passionate and professional team members.Chaplaincy services.Positively supporting and impacting the lives of others through your career contribution.How To Apply We are looking for compassionate people who share our mission and values.
