The Opportunity Austal are seeking an experienced Learning and Organisational Development Manager to hit the ground running and join our team. This role is responsible for the design, development and delivery of organisational training and learning programs, company initiatives and operational training to ensure competence in trades/production employees, to support the delivery of Austal's projects.

About the role Strategic development of human capital and maximising organisational capability - through aligning to the organisation's strategy, structure, processes, and goals. Lead the design, development and delivery of organisational initiatives that strengthen leadership and management capability; talent management and succession planning; and onboarding. Manage the integration of OD and Learning strategies and programs. Lead the identification, management and execution of operational trades competency assessment and training requirements. Responsible for the documentation, governance and recording of learning and training records. Responsible for the strategic allocation of learning and training funds at the enterprise-wide level to align with critical business priorities and organisational, departmental, and individual capability needs. Responsible for business reporting. About you As we prepare for company growth, this role is not for the faint-hearted. To be successful in this role the candidate will need to be adaptable and strategically minded with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement to ensure a safety-first culture.
Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (TAE). Degree in Education or Business and Management. Experience of 10+ years in a similar role within a medium to large organisation. Experience in leading, managing, mentoring, and coaching a team. Demonstrated experience in strengthening talent management, leadership and capability frameworks and tools. Demonstrated high level of leadership skills to influence Senior Management. Previous experience with reviewing and implementing LMS systems. Experience understanding a wide range of tools to measure and strengthen the health and effectiveness of an organisation, individual leadership, and teams. Strong understanding of behavioural science knowledge and practice. Experience in leading operational (trades, safety, and compliance) training. Coaching and facilitation skills.
