About the role
St Mary's is a small Catholic school located in Castlemaine with a current enrolment of 65 students and we are hoping to grow this number to 100 in the near future. Our school currently comprises of 3 multi-age classes and we are focused on empowering children to take responsibility for their own learning by providing them with strategies and skills to prepare for an ever-changing world.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced teachers for the aforementioned leadership positions. The successful applicants will be part of a dynamic team of teachers dedicated to inclusive and effective learning within an environment which provides a rigorous, engaging and relevant curriculum focused on the unique needs of each child. Previous experience in one or both of these positions will be an advantage.
About you
As an engaging and highly competent leader you will have a distinct focus on leading teachers in each area. It is expected that the successful candidate will work collaboratively with the principal and leadership team to build teacher capacity and Catholic identity in the school.
Success Criteria:
The successful applicant will demonstrate:
1. Commitment to the Catholic Ethos, the principles of Catholic teaching and living the school’s vision.
2. Capacity to promote and enact contemporary & innovative pedagogies and practices.
3. Ability to leverage digital technology into all aspects of the curriculum and provide authentic learning opportunities within a contemporary environment.
4. A high standard of competency and proficiency as a classroom teacher.
5. Commitment to working collaboratively and effectively in a team.
6. Enthusiasm to be part of a school with a focus on building community.
7. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
You will have:
1. A tertiary qualification in Education.
2. Current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
3. Hold accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic Primary School is desirable; a commitment to obtain accreditation may be considered.
4. The willingness to adhere to St Mary's School's Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct and other policies relevant to Ministerial Order 1359.
