Mater Private Hospital Townsville has an incredible opportunity for you to transition into a role in acute care on a specialised Entry to Acute Care Program. We aim to run this program every 6 months and are seeking expressions of interest from nurses interested in our next intake in October. The successful applicants will be provided with an 8-week transition program and be offered permanent part-time employment at 0.8 FTE. Salary range: $41.47 - $53.30 (RN1) per hour plus superannuation and access to NFP salary packaging up to $15,900 + an increase on 1 July 2024 About the Program: In this program, you will participate in study days and work with experienced members of our team while also being supported by our clinical educators. This will offer you the chance to care for our patients who are being looked after in an acute care setting (Medical, Orthopaedics, CCU/CTU). Your expertise as a community RN or EN will be invaluable as you provide comprehensive nursing care, monitor vital signs, administer medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to either develop individualised care plans or contribute to implementing the individualised care plans.
With state-of-the-art technology and advanced surgical procedures and complex medical cases, you are guaranteed to expand your knowledge and skill set at Mater Private Hospital Townsville. Acute care nursing is fast-paced, yet rewarding and whether you're a recent graduate or an experienced nurse from another non-acute specialty, our program will equip you with the skills and confidence needed to excel in acute care settings. Opportunities to witness surgical procedures will also enable you to understand the continuum of care as you follow patients from the start of their journey to the end of their journey.
You will work closely with our Mater Education Clinical Facilitators and Educators during the program and have ongoing support following the initial 8-week program.
