Actuarial professionals with expertise in quantitative analysis, insurance pricing, loss reserving, and risk quantification are integral to AIG’s success. We have dedicated Finance Actuaries that play a critical role in assessing the reserve need and thereby ensuring strong financial condition of AIG’s insurance operating companies around the world. Our Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries focus on directly supporting AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics, performance monitoring and measurement, as well as assessment of reinsurance needs. This team also works with marketing, operations, and financial management to achieve AIG’s business objectives.
How you will create an impact
1. Analysis of the reserves needed for various classes of business such as Property, General Liability, Excess Casualty, Auto Liability, Financial Lines, Property and Personal Insurance by country on US GAAP and Statutory basis.
2. Profitability Studies for several countries to provide deep dives supporting underwriters to investigate components of their portfolio.
3. Work closely with underwriting and claims department to keep aware of emerging issues affecting product lines in the region and adjusts analysis as appropriate.
4. Responsible for quarterly and year-end financial reporting requests.
5. Communicate key drivers of reserve changes to the senior actuarial management.
What you’ll need to succeed
1. Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related area or equivalent.
2. Proven experience in P&C insurance required.
3. Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
4. Work well both independently and as part of a team - Proficiency in Excel, SQL or other programming languages preferred.
5. Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
6. Effective time management skill.
7. Fluency in English.
